REVIEW
For a Trip to Disney World There is No Better Guide Every two years my wife and I go on a trip to Disney World, usually preceded by a week on the Disney Magic (cruise ship). I've been using this guide exclusively for about a decade and it has become indispensible. We plan all our stays, day-plans, and dining out schedule by Bob's reviews.
It is a big book to read, but a Disney vacation is anything but cheap. This book will help you make the most out of your visit so you can know ahead of time where you want to go and what you want to do. The reviews of every park, hotel, and restaurant are spot on. We have never left a venue and say "they got it wrong" in the book. There are also great tips for dining and other activities outside of Disney. Package plans, money saving ideas, etc are discussed.
Also, don't think the book will spoil any "spontaneity" of going to Disney, especially for the first time. Disney Word is a giant place with a lot to do and your time is limited. If you don't plan in advance or know what to expect then you can leave "the World" very disappointed.
One question revolves around the need to buy a new book each year. I say the answer is yes. Disney is a dynamic place. Every year things change. Some venues close, new ones open. Hours change, programs change, etc. I buy the newest version before each trip and save it as a reference until I go again. It also makes a great gift for friends and family going there on vacation. Buying a used version at Amazon Marketplace is fine...who cares if it's used?

REVIEW
Aside from your kids, this is the best thing to bring to Disney Actually, you should buy it six months to a year before. Great planning steps, tips, etc. Ours was a last-minute trip and our trusty Birnbaum guide still helped us squeeze a great trip out of every minute. This is THE guide to get.
Children are perhaps Walt Disney World's biggest fans. On playgrounds and in classrooms, there's always excited talk about who went to Walt Disney World and what they did each day-or minute. It has become almost a rite of passage to visit America's most popular travel destination, and kids can be wonderful sources of information.
Every area and attraction of Walt Disney World is covered, with kids' honest reactions and impressions included. There is a whole chapter devoted to each of the theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Another chapter describes the rest of Walt Disney World, including Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Fort Wilderness, Downtown Disney, and dining spots with kid appeal.
The book is updated annually, and the 2009 edition features lots of new tips and attraction reviews from young "Disney Experts" around the world. We'll tell kids how to catch "Wildcat fever" at the rollicking new show, "High School Musical 2-School's Out!" And we'll give young readers the inside scoop on the newest WDW attractions, including the thrilling Toy Story Mania!

REVIEW
Great Planning Guide Passporter's WDW book is a great organizer and planner. Although I visit Disney almost every year, I still like to keep up-to-date with its many changes. So for my 2009 Disney vacation, I purchased several new Disney World guidebooks. Ultimately, I found that my favorite guides were Passporter's and The Healthy Guide to Walt Disney World 2009: How to Eat Right and Stay Fit in Disney - The NEW Diet, Dining, Food, Fitness and Complete Weight Loss Book.
Passporter's Disney guide includes great mapping details, abundant general Disney info and a helpful journal. Well organized and easy to read, any Disney guest will benefit from its vast contents. It also contains clear, concise reviews and straighforward planning tips.
As I also like to maintain a healthy lifestlye while traveling, The 2009 Healthy Guide to WDW was very beneficial. A popular book within the Disney community, The Healthy Guide was best at updating me in the areas of 2009 Disney Dining, ADR's, menus, diet and fitness options.
Concurring with many Disney fans, I agree that authors Jennifer Marx (Passporter's) and Dan Green (Healthy Guide) have written the two best guides to assist guests on their Walt Disney World vacation in 2009.
Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Dining Guide is a complete diner's guide to what's where in the World. What do they serve? How good is it? How much will it cost? It's all here. Our personally rated taste-tested temptations include: who serves the best PB&J, where to sup with Snow White, and why turkey legs are the most popular snack food in the World.
Our updated 2009 edition includes details on WDW's newest eateries, including The Wave at the Contemporary Resort, and Epcot's new Japanese and Italian restaurants. This year's edition will also include expanded coverage of Disney's wildly popular Dining Plan; updated information on dining with Disney characters (and dinosaurs!); the scoop on Epcot's perennially popular and ever-expanding "Food and Wine Festival"; and where to find the best bargain buffets and spectacular splurges the Mouse has to offer. Discover our choices for fine fare for everyone in the family-from toddlers to grandparents. Fascinating food facts and secrets to the best spots for eating and enjoying the parades are included in this perfectly-sized gustatorial guide.
REVIEW
Good take-along guide to have while at Disney If you're looking for a small guide to take along with you while in the parks and roaming Disney World, this will prove convenient. This book gives basic information for each restaurant throughout all of Disney World, including the parks, resorts and entertainment areas such as Downtown Disney. It includes:
- Price ranges
- Meals served (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks)
- If they're on the Disney Dining Plan
- If they're fast food or table service restaurants
You'll find an overview of the food served in each location. It also includes some Walt Disney World recipes for those who want to bring Disney home to their own kitchen.
Since Birnbaum is the official guide of Disney World, you can be pretty certain that everything in their book is accurate. Of course things change frequently at Disney, so the book should be accurate up to the approximate time of publishing.
The book is small enough to take along into the parks with you. It's set up in a way that will make it easy to locate individual restaurants and quickly determine the basics of what you'll find there.
In my book, Walt Disney World® with Disabilities, I recommend in-depth research prior to going to the parks. This will help you make the most of your vacation. If you're looking for more detailed descriptions of restaurants, you may wish to look at The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2009 (Unofficial Guides). For most restaurants this book contains more in-depth information including reader survey results, service ratings, hours of operation, setting and atmosphere, house specialties, etc.
Another option is The Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World Resort, 2nd: How to Get the Most Out of the Best Disney Has to Offer (Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World Resort). Cara Goldsbury goes into depth regarding the better restaurants at Disney. [...]
Finally, I would say that this book fills a big need for a quick and handy reference guide, especially while in the parks. The parks are huge and can be overwhelming when you're unfamiliar. It's likely that you're going to get hungry and finding the right place for you can be challenging. If you're looking for something to help on the spur of the moment, this book will do the trick!
A great movie for children! Starting a collection of favorite movies for my CA granddaughter. Was pleased to find it on amazon and at a good price. It was shipped quickly and was exactly as described.
With an introduction by John Lasseter-and very little else in the way of words-this first book in The Artist Series lavishly showcases the most brilliant story artwork created by such luminaries as Bill Peet, Don DaGradi, Joe Rinaldi, Roy Williams, Ub Iwerks, Burny Mattison, and Vance Gerry for such films as Steamboat Willie and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Alice in Wonderland and 101 Dalmatians. The art will be displayed in its full glory with all the notes, flaws, and hole punches that were so much a part of the story development process. Featuring the best examples-many never published before-as well as some pieces by unidentified artists-Story will be the must-have art book for collectors, artists, and Disney fans.
REVIEW
Elemental Disney Great high quality book with large pages that allow the reader to experience the level of detail and care that the artists took with these story boards. Could have used a little extra text in the book in order to describe who drew the particular boards and some back story. Will be purchasing further books in the series.
Whether your favorite Disney animated film is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or WALL-E, you'll find it in this colorful calendar that includes every Disney animated feature ever produced as well as selected cartoon shorts. Each daily page presents a full-color scene from a movie or short and a fact or quote inspired by it. There's also a special bonus flip animation feature on each page that brings Disney characters to life.
