REVIEW
It Works. As simple as it is. It charges the battery, it works. I haven't had any problems with it. The cable is very long, so you won't have to move from that sweet spot on the couch duringgame play.

REVIEW
Doesn't charge with my PC. The next two paragraphs are optional. Skip to the last line for my product review.
This is not really a review, more like a warning. I cannot fault Microsoft because nowhere in the product description does it say that you can charge your battery using a PC (or any other USB power source). However, the almighty Internet informed me that this was so. Let it be known: some people on the Internet do not know what they are talking about...including...me (possibly). It is entirely possible that you may receive a Play and Charge Kit that recharges perfectly well with your PC. I believe those that say it works with their PC. I cannot fault Microsoft for my buyer's remorse, but I can fault Microsoft for having "wacky" hardware. You really never know how it is going to go with them.
I bought this product because I wanted to baby my 360, charging my battery exclusively with my computer. I cannot do that now, hence my sour demeanor. Yes, you can turn the 360 "off" (the fan still runs) while charging. It has been my experience that electronics that are "off" no longer produce sound. With all the hardware failure that plagues the system, I would rather not keep my system in this pseudo-off state for six hours every time I wish to charge my battery.
Box Contents: Charging stand for two batteries, one Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, and an AC adapter.
With the Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit, you can recharge in a flash and kiss disposable batteries goodbye. Your Xbox 360 Wireless Controller needs a new battery? Swap in a fresh pack from the Quick Charge Kit. Multiple wireless controllers? Pick up a couple of extras, so you'll always be ready with a fully charged battery that's ready to go. Quickly recharge up to two battery packs at the same time.

REVIEW
Get the original Play & Charge kit! This kit is good because it does its job. However, the cord is WAY too short. I was not able to go far with the cable plugged in from the xbox360 to my controller. Not only that, it doesn't include a charge pack so you are left buying one on your own. If either of the above doesn't matter to you, then this product is great. If it does, then go with the original Play & Charge kit that hasa really long cord and with a charge pack.

REVIEW
Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit with Black Controller I bought this bundle as a video game deal-of-the-day recently. I already had a white wireless controller and play & charge kit and I definitely enjoyed the freedom of wireless controllers. These kits are great because you don't have to keep buying new batteries or swapping rechargeable ones. I just play, and when I'm done I just plug them into my PC USB ports to charge, so I don't have to leave my 360 on. (These charge kits DO NOT WORK as PC controllers -- only for charging. Silly, eh?)
The deal of the day was for $45. An added benefit was that it was the black bundle, so the controller stands out amongst the many white ones that most people have. I have had no problems thus far and am glad I bought this bundle at the discounted price. I probably would not buy it at full price, though.
Russian roulette with your money... Bought this from Wal-mart for $30. Works on the wireless controller that came with my system no problem, but would flash green lights on the new Microsoft controller I just bought. A google search showed that Microsoft did a small redesign on their wireless controller, which affects certain 3rd party batteries (like Nyko's). Nyko is in the process of releasing compatible batteries and replacing the old ones I bought, but it is utterly pointless to buy this just to save a few dollars.
Save yourself the headache and just buy the Microsoft-brand Quick Charge Kit and Play & Charge cable. These together cost you $40.98, which is a whole $1 more than this piece of crap.
The best app for the Xbox 360, period. What can I really say. It's a rechargeable pack for my wireless controller. I never have to buy batteries for at least a year or two (assuming normal rechargeable life) and I can charge while I play, or when I want to keep my Xbox 360 off I can just charge it in my laptop's USB input. Very useful to have, everyone should have at least one of these.
