A hands on museum for children from infants to 10 years old.
 Children squeal with delight as adults share in their awe and amazement upon entering the Garden State Discovery Museum. Filled with nearly a dozen larger than life, permanent exhibits -- enhanced with "Garden State flair" -- the Museum offers hours of fun and countless experiences. Shopping at the Jersey fresh Farm Stand, fishing for flounder Down the Shore or bandaging a wounded kitty cat and examining animal x-rays at the Vet and Pet are among the countless possibilities for children and grown-ups. At Under Construction, children can grab a hand truck and help build a real house -- as long as they're wearing a hard hat! Arts & Imagination features a gigantic weaving loom, plus an Egyptian Pyramid exhibit - complete with hieroglyphics and a sarcophagus while the Fleet Backstage Theater debuts the performers of tomorrow as they giggle "lights, camera, action!"
The Garden State Discovery Museum offers educational entertainment at its hands-on best. It is a children's museum filled with hours of fun and countless experiences. Visitors can get inside of a gigantic bubble, scale a rock climbing wall, hop aboard a ship, create front-page newspaper stories, be reporter or anchor-person at a television station, "shop" at the farm stand then whip up a pretend exotic meal at the Discovery Diner, dabble in art, create some music, put on a show and build a two-story house -- all under one roof!

Garden State Discovery Museum is a great place, but seems a little neglected. They have lots of great things for kids. My favorites were the Ice Hockey rink and the fully functional diner, but they really need to focus more on cleanliess and sanitation. If you go here, your kid will have a great time, but bring hand sanitzier
