American Vaulting Association Region IX Championships
Gloucester, NJ (June
26,2009) - American Vaulting Association is
happening in Gloucester, New Jersey! The vaulters and horses are athletes competing in the sport of equestrian vaulting. They perform seven compulsories exercises and freestyle (kür) on a horse being lunged in a circle. In accordance with the AVA rules, the horse is either at a walk, trot, or canter. Compulsory moves are scored for form and in the case of freestyle (kür) for originality, performance, and difficulty. The horse is the most important part of this team, and the horse score is averaged with the vaulter's final score at all competitions.
