American Can Co. Condo Conversion Hosts Open House

23,2008) - Canco Lofts Grand Opening is
happening in None, New Jersey! Canco Lofts, Jersey City’s largest single-building industrial-to-residential conversion, will host a Grand Opening reception from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at the onsite Canco Lofts Sales Center, 50 Dey St., Jersey City. A conversion of the landmark American Can Co. building into 551 authentic loft residences, Canco Lofts is already 25 percent sold out of the first 101 residences in Phase I. Visitors can participate in 30-minute seminars by members of the Canco Lofts design and marketing team, including renowned Manhattan-based Canco Lofts lobby architect LOT-EK from 3 to 3:30 p.m.; Canco Lofts Marketing Director Edward Yorukoff from 4 to 4:30 p.m.; and Video Artist Andrew Demirjian from 5 to 5:30 p.m. The Grand Opening will be immediately followed from 7 to 9 p.m. by Soft Wall, the first part of the performance art exhibition Public Acts, created by the nonprofit artist collaboration Shua Group and sponsored by The Jersey City Museum. Industrial elements of the American Can Co. building have been retained in its conversion to Canco Lofts, with the renovation of the building’s art deco façade, saw-toothed roof, grand-scaled windows, ceilings heights and mushroom-capped columns featured in every residence. When completed, Canco Lofts will consist of a mix of studios as well as one-, two-, and three-bedroom lofts that range in size from 640 to 1,663 sf, including penthouse duplexes – many of which offer views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline.
