Schola Cantorum on Hudson, the critically acclaimed 40-voice choral ensemble based in the NY/NJ metropolitan area, will present a special themed concert entitled Space, Light and Discovery in honor of the 400th anniversary year of Galileo’s first gazing into the heavens through his new invention, the telescope. Under the baton of Founding Artistic Director Dr. Deborah Simpkin King, Schola celebrates exploration, discovery, and expansion beyond historical boundaries in a concert event that marks Schola’s first-ever multimedia presentation! The program, which highlights the 'a cappella' singing for which SCH has been well reviewed, features works by contemporary composers such Whitacre, Fissinger, Mechem, and Fuchs. The concert program will be presented on Friday evening, May 29, 2009, at 8:00 p.m., at Ramsey First Presbyterian Church 15 Shuart Lane, Ramsey, NJ. Ticket prices range from $15-$25 with special pricing for reserved seating and senior/student tickets.
