05,2009) - At Georgian Court University is
happening in Ocean, New Jersey! Marilyn Monroe personified Hollywood glamour with an unparalleled glow and energy that enamored the world. Although she was an alluring beauty with voluptuous curves and a generous pout, Marilyn was more than a 1950s sex goddess. Her apparent vulnerability and innocence, in combination with an inherent sensuality, endeared her to the global consciousness. She dominated the age of movie stars to become, without question, the most famous woman of the 20th century. Directed by Billy Wilder and also starring Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, Some Like It Hot (1959) is a legendary comedy about two musicians who witness the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. In order to elude the mob, the men dress up as women and join an all-girl band heading for Miami. Marilyn gave a memorable performance as Sugar Kane and sang the iconic song, “I Wanna Be Loved by You.” The American Film Institute named Some Like It Hot as the funniest film of the century in 2000.
