Wildwood, NJ- Not since Mario Lanza honed his signing voice hanging off of the back of a Trolley as it plied the streets of Wildwood, has this much excitement surrounded a Trolley Ride in Wildwood.
Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID), President, William “Yogi” Kurtz, owner of Neill’s Steak and Chowder House, announced today that the Business District is sponsoring a FREE Trolley service for the downtown area every weekend all summer.
“Downtown Wildwood is a great place for families to visit while they are on vacation and enjoying our great Beach and Boardwalk,” said Kurtz. “Our Downtown is home to dozens of great restaurants, pubs, pancake houses, deli’s, pizza shops and even one of the most quaint and unique Movie Theatres anywhere,” added Kurtz. “This new service will allow our guests to hop on and hop off to visit all of these great businesses.”
The Trolley Service, which is being offered through a partnership with Five Mile Beach Electric Railway Company, will commence this Thursday, June 25th and run every Thursday through Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. on Atlantic and Pacific Avenues. Clearly marked “Dolly” Stops will be located along the route which extends the entire length of Wildwood from 26th – Cresse Avenues.
Wally Lerro, a WBID Board Member and owner of the Bolero Resort, Blue Water Grill and the Deck at Holly Beach, also commented: “This is a great service for our customers. Now, guests staying on the island, or coming from offshore, can find one place to park in Wildwood and travel around to our many great offerings without having to worry about driving, parking or traffic.”
“The main thrust of the Wildwoods Advertising Campaign for this year is all of the free things that you can do while you are here,” noted Kurz. “What better amenity to our free beaches, free boardwalk and free special events can you think of then a free trolley to take you to all of our great attractions?”
